Chris provides counseling for compulsive sexual behavior and problematic relationship patterns, as well as counseling for couples, individuals, and families. Chris began his own journey more than 42 years ago — like many of his clients, working through real personal pain and struggle — and he brings hard-won expertise and insight to the counseling and recovery process. That insight comes from both his own path of healing and sustained recovery, and from many years helping clients understand the emotional roots of their behavior.
Chris combines personal recovery with clinical expertise. He completed a Master of Science in clinical counseling from the University of North Texas. He spent a number of years as a clinical case manager in an inpatient treatment center, focused on the treatment and understanding of compulsive sexual behavior, problematic pornography use, substance concerns, and grief and trauma. Chris has more than 17 years in private practice supporting clients who struggle with compulsive sexual behavior, as well as partners affected by betrayal trauma and the family members within an impacted family system. His years of clinical work and personal recovery give him a unique perspective and a deep understanding of how lasting healing happens.
Chris is both gentle and compassionate, yet straightforward — able to address difficult patterns from a place of empathy and understanding. He has trained extensively in compulsive sexual behavior, attachment and caregiving dynamics, and complex relational trauma.
Chris is a Level II EMDR therapist and a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT). He brings relational depth to the recovery process and provides services to the entire family system, including individual, couples, and family therapy. Chris draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients and their loved ones move toward healing.
