Three Intensives, One Proven Approach

Every couple arrives with a different story, so we offer three intensives that share the same clinical foundation but focus on different needs. A brief, free assessment helps us match you to the right one.

Trust & Communication

Restore Intensive

For couples who love each other but keep missing each other. You argue in the same loops, feel disconnected, or trust has quietly eroded through everyday friction. We help you break the cycle and reconnect — no betrayal required.

After an Affair

Rebuilding Trust Intensive

For couples recovering from a specific affair. We create a safe, structured space to process what happened, rebuild transparency, grieve honestly, and decide your future together — with care and without judgment.

Betrayal Trauma

Safe Harbor Intensive

For partners healing from betrayal trauma tied to compulsive sexual behavior or problematic pornography. We prioritize safety, honesty after deception, and trauma-informed disclosure — and it can pair with our individual Sex Addiction Intensive.

Our Approach: the ANCHOR Model™

Every LifeWorks intensive follows the ANCHOR Model™ — our own attachment-based, trauma-informed path to healing after betrayal, compulsive behavior, or eroded trust. Because a threatened nervous system can’t be honest, empathic, or close until it first feels safe, we steady you, tell the truth carefully, let the impact be heard, make things right, rebuild connection, and protect what you’ve regained.

A — Attune & Stabilize: safety and calm first, so the work is bearable.
N — Name the Truth: paced, contained honesty — never graphic.
C — Comfort the Impact: the hurt is fully heard and validated.
H — Heal & Own: real accountability, amends, and changed behavior.
O — Open Reconnection: rebuilding closeness at the hurt partner’s pace.
R — Renew & Resource: protecting your gains with rhythm and support.

All three intensives follow this same clear arc, tailored to your relationship through the free upfront consultation — and every couple leaves with The ANCHOR Workbook: Finding Secure Love Again to carry the work home. The ANCHOR Model is original to LifeWorks, but it stands on the shoulders of the pioneers who mapped this terrain — Bowlby and Ainsworth, Sue Johnson, John & Julie Gottman, Robert Navarra, Patrick Carnes, Michael Barta, Stan Tatkin, Dan Siegel, Bessel van der Kolk, Judith Herman, Peter Levine, Stephen Porges, Steffens & Means, and Brené Brown — whose science we integrated into one attachment-based path.

How an Intensive Works

A simple, low-pressure path from first contact to a weekend built entirely around your relationship.

1

Free Consultation

Before your weekend, we meet to understand your relationship and your goals. This short assessment sets your program — including whether a 16- or 20-hour format fits — and recommends the right intensive.

2

Your Weekend

In one private, focused weekend (Friday evening through Sunday), you do concentrated work that can take months of weekly sessions to reach. Snacks and fluids provided throughout; lodging and dining are nearby.

3

Aftercare & Maintenance

You leave with a clear, practical plan — the rituals, conversations, and repair tools that keep the progress going at home — plus recommendations for continued support.

Investment

Every intensive begins with a brief, free consultation that sets your exact scope, so pricing is shown as a starting estimate.

16-hour intensive — investment starts at $3,450 per couple (Fri evening + full Saturday + half Sunday).
20-hour intensive — investment starts at $4,250 per couple (Fri evening + full Saturday + full Sunday), when deeper processing is clinically appropriate.

Includes your private space in Addison, materials, refreshments throughout, and The ANCHOR Workbook. Lodging and dining are nearby (not included). The individual Sex Addiction Intensive is priced per individual on the same basis.

Not Sure Which One Fits?

How do I know which intensive is right for us?

You don’t have to decide alone. The brief, free upfront consultation is designed to guide that choice — we’ll listen, ask thoughtful questions, and recommend the best fit.

Is an intensive instead of, or in addition to, regular counseling?

It can be either. Some couples use an intensive to jump-start progress and then continue with weekly counseling; others use it to move through a specific challenge.

Do we need to be “in crisis” to come?

No. Intensives serve couples at many points — from persistent disconnection to acute betrayal. If you’re wondering whether it’s “enough” of a reason, it probably is; let’s talk.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Your weekend is private and one-on-one with your clinician, in a comfortable, discreet space in Addison.

Take the First Step, Privately

A confidential consultation is the simplest way to find out if an intensive is right for you. There’s no pressure — just a warm, honest conversation about where you are and what could help.
