If you scored 6 or greater on the Core Items, your answers HAVE MET the threshold of six of the criteria that indicate sex addiction is present.
If you scored less than 6 on Core Items, then you HAVE NOT MET the threshold of six of the criteria that indicate sex addiction is present.
Sub Score
In addition to the score on the core items, there are certain subscales to further confirm that a problem exists. The following subscales were measured in your answers:
If you scored 3 or greater on the Internet Items, you have a profile consistent with sex addicts who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior on-line.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Men’s Items, you have a profile consistent with men who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Women’s Items, you have a profile consistent with women who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 3 or greater on the Homosexual Men’s Items, you have a profile consistent with homosexual men who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Addictive Dimensions: Preoccupation Items, you have a profile consistent with Addictive Dimensions: Preoccupation who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Loss of Control Items, you have a profile consistent with Loss of Control who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Relationship Disturbance Items, you have a profile consistent with Relationship Disturbance who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Affect Disturbance Items, you have a profile consistent with Affect Disturbance who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you scored 2 or greater on the Associated Feature Items, you have a profile consistent with Associated Feature who struggle with sexually compulsive behavior.
If you answered Yes to 4-6 Q’s – you may have a problem
